The 50 Afghan Women in Tech initiative by Aseel Foundation continues to provide a vital pathway for Afghan women to access education, employment, and economic independence. In a context where opportunities remain limited, the program is creating access to the digital workforce through remote and sustainable employment.
The program is ongoing, with 35 women currently onboarded and receiving training, mentorship, internet support, stipends, and essential equipment. So far, $672 has been raised, though this amount is not enough to fully onboard a fellow into the tech program. These resources enable them to work remotely and build meaningful careers despite ongoing challenges. We aim to onboard the remaining 15 fellows once funding is secured.
At the same time, the program aims to expand its reach. Many qualified women are ready to join but cannot yet be supported due to limited funding, highlighting the urgent need for additional resources.
To sustain the program and ensure each fellow receives full support, $7,400 is required per participant, covering training, mentorship, and essential tools needed for their success.
This initiative goes beyond employment fellows are gaining confidence, financial independence, and contributing to their communities.
Continued support is critical to sustain and expand the program. Every contribution helps more Afghan women access opportunities and build sustainable futures through technology.
