In 2023 one of our students began to be a teacher in one of the choirs. She has worked very safety and her evaluations have been very positive, we are happy to have her with us.
The monitors that we do not consider qualified to have a group, returned to carry out their practices in the choirs with older teachers guiding them. We are going to do a closer follow-up trying to make them progress with more confidence. There are six in practice.
On the other hand, next Saturday we will make a selection of students who are interested in starting the process. We attach an invitation that we made in the choirs. Fot this there will be 3 teachers making the selection.
2022 was of great learning because 8 students were in practice and they were a great support for the teachers in the Christmas concerts (we had many!). Some of them led a song during the concert and one of them is ready to take a group in 2023.
Her musical and vocal mastery makes her very skilled at giving vocal examples to improve the sound of the choir and the group’s tuning is more precise. From the beginning she has been very willing to attend classes, collaborate and be aware of what she should do, showing interest and responsibility during classes.
We attach video with photos of the monitors and testimony of the girl who is ready.
On the other hand, some of the monitors did not have such good results and need more practice or work on administrative tasks, because they did not have the enough strength to work a class group.

monitor means student in training
The process of the monitors in the classroom has been very significant for the teachers, the choir and the monitor. In these practices the monitors must learn to communicate with the children, the parents, the directives of the institutions and with the teacher. They must also take the leadership and the initiative to propose activities, scenery, choreographies, costumes and, of course, carry out different musical activities in the class
The monitors not only prepare to teach singing, but aldo learn other skills such as solving problems that arise in a concert or in the classroom, managing institutions, organizing the group, among others.
PICTURE 1
She sees the happy childhood she had at the Sirenaica Foundation reflected in the children her. Thoughtful and careful to lead ideas that facilitate the teaching of songs, she multiplies the children’s achievements during the class.
Try to make examples in the exercises and songs that motivate and energize the practice of the choir. The best thing about her is her sensitivity, capacity for observation, delicacy with children and her beautiful voice at the full serving of her practicing
She will be an excellent teacher!

In this report, we want to share some testimonials:
"My experience in monitors has been very interesting and full of new discoveries. Seeing how the foundation works and how it moves not only from the perspective of a student but also from a monitor is very different and one begins to learn things that were not so important before and I am very grateful for these. have learned a lot, working with children and young people has been incredible, learning from the teachers and starting to follow in their footsteps, it has become something very interesting for me "

"My experience in Sirenaica this year has been one of the best. When I started last year with the monitoring in Sirenaica it was a bit difficult since it was in virtuality.. However, I learned to do things with love and I think that was what helped me the most to know how important this was to me. I have become a more responsible person with my work and I have learned to have a lot of affection with the children I work with.
I am very grateful to Sirenaica for the opportunity to participate in the monitoring and training process to later have a choir.
I really liked participating in the choir auditions because I felt how they sing and a memory of 9 years ago came to mind when I auditioned for the choir for the first time."

We continue to impact lives!! Thank you for your
support.
In 2021 we worked with two groups: the first one with 10 young people who began their theory process in 2020 and this year began their practices in the different choirs of Fundación Sirenaica, having a deeper approach in their own neighborhoods.
The second group consisted of 12 young people who began their year of theory, knowledge of the different teaching methodologies, the history of Sirenaica and its methodology.
For the second half of the year the young people who were doing their internships did research on a song to teach in each of the choirs where they were doing their internships; they also received choral conducting classes and at the end of the course a concert was held for their families, friends, teachers and directors of Sirenaica, where each one could conduct the song worked on in class.
On the other hand, the young people who started the course of monitors, had different classes with some of the teachers of Sirenaica knowing other ways of working, they also had their final exam, one written and the other oral which consisted of conducting a virtual class for the teachers and directors of Sirenaica.
Ten young people graduated from their first year as monitors
