Dear donor,

What a better time of the year to sing and be happy than Christmas? Today I want to thank you on behalf of our foundation for making this years´s goals a reality.

The achievements of 2015 were numerous, which wouldn´t have been possible without each of our donors' support.

We invite you to live this Holidays with a full heart, to give away without regret, to forgive. We invite everyone to reconciliation and joy, to give love with generosity to your beloved ones.

Also, I want you to watch this video, which shows one of our biggest achievementes of this year. Our senior chorus, Iuventus, was part of the Festival Habaneras at Torrevieja, Spain, and won some recognitions. Several of these sutdents are the monitors you are especifically helping to train, and for that we are infinitely grateful.

Finally, we want you to know that this year we opened our School of Directors with the participation of 3 of our young teacher/monitors in the biggest concert we usually hold in the year with 230 our our students. The photographs you are seeing were taken this day especially for our GlobalGiving Donors.

“Every man must decide whether he will walk in the light of creative altruism or in the darkness of destructive selfishness.”

August is a month with new opportunities and challenges. Our projects keeps on growing and developing, all because of your help and charity.
For some of us, August means a new semester, a new college year, or  the continuation of our workdays. Anyways, it is the time to reevaluate some of our yearly goals and ask ourselves
Have I achieved them?
Am I doing enough to get what I want?
Youth singers transform lives to teach others has opened new transformtation and training scenarios these past months.
Nine of our choral groups will participate in the First Sirenaica Choral Encounter where 280 students from our foundation will sing along with three of our proyection choirs.
These choruses ought to perform two concerts out of their usual settings and will finally participate of a great concert, due August 13
We encourage you to keep helping talents, and always remember that today's youth are tomorrow's heroes.
Happy days,

Estimados donantes,

- Maria Elena, monitora

Dear donors,

once again THANK YOU for your big support to our beloved cause! Mother´s day is really close and we want to congratulate all our mothers in advance.

To our student´s moms: thank you for being their biggest support in their formation

To our donor´s mothers: Thanks for giving us this awesome human being to support us through GlobalGiving

To our donors who are moms too: Once again thank you for your donations, and congratulations for the enduring though gratifying job of being a parent.

This month, we invite all our followers to donate as an gift to your own mom, as a way to say thank you and to honour her, and helping our young kids at the same time.

What better time if it is not Easter to help our cause!

You can see some photos of our groups, the day that GlobalGiving payed us an awesome visit!

Finally, I leave yo to this beautiful testimony from one of our monitors: "A new challenge begins each year, new kids to know and I anxiosuly wait for the audition moments, to listen to every child and to tell them they will be part of this ship that will travel through Colombia; tell them that they are now part of a world where only love rules. Clases are a magical moment were everything bad is forgotten and music becomes the protagonist of the story, opening this precious kids' hearts, the songs transforming their lives. These kids are the biggest satisfaction i can have, knowing they will become part of my life, joined together by music "- Maria Elena, monitor

Dear Donor,

Fundación Sirenaica wishes you a Happy, Prosperous, Succesfull and Full of MUSIC 2015! We know well that this is a time to desire, wish and tryout for new goals, to review last year's acomplishments and to learn from mistakes. Pur Christmas was full of concerts and performances. Here is a testimony of one of our young teachers/monitors, a reflextion of 2014 results:

"2014 was a year of new challenges and learning in this adventure that has now been living for two years and promises to continue at giant steps. Children haven’t yet lost their love for music through all this time they’ve been singing; quite the opposite, they desire bigger and more ambitious challenges, they dream of art as a way of life and observe carefully with a lot of kindness the aptitudes and attitudes of their teachers. “Youth singers transform lives by teaching others” is a project that has been able to capture the kid’s attention, that has reached bigger and more important scenarios and that has offered presentations with better quality each time.

As a teacher in this process,  I am amazed with the children´s progress, the parents ‘and school members’ recognition, the satisfaction of everyone after each performance, the love of transmitting knowledge the same way I received it and the blessing of being useful to my community, my country and humanity.

The impact is quite big and each time there is more young people betting for education, there are more kids in love with art, singing and music. THANK YOU to everyone who has supported in any way this dedicated work. With your support we advance into a more human city, a better future. "

Finally, I recommend just a few things for enjoying this upcoming year:

1. Listen to more music. Music has the power to activate our emotions, our brain and and feelings.

2. Take time to care for yourself. Give yourself a present for you efforts, don´t be to harsh when things don´t come out just right.

3. Care about others. Not just collaborating with foundations and projects; begin at home, being generous and loving with your family.

4. Write down two or three realistic goals, and review them monthly. KEEP UP!

5. BE HAPPY AND SMILE A LITTLE BIT MORE!

Just try to be balanced, to reach equilibrium between all our human areas: physical, spiritual, intelectual, emotional.

Thank you,

My best regards and wishes ,

Elisa Escobar

Hello Dearest Donors,
Long time, no see! Don´t worry, we're back with a bunch of great news!
Every year, as you may know, Medellin holds an event full of colors, music and FLOWERS! It is called "Feria de Flores", commemorating the cultural richness of our region. Fundación Sirenaica participated in various events. Two concerts given by our kids from "Youth Singers".
1. A total of 50 children from our program held a concert right on a street, organized by the city mayor
2. 80 of our children offered a concert in colombian music at the Pablo Tobón Uribe theatre.
  • Both of the events showed an important improvement: some of our kids were able to sing some solos, which undoubtedly reinforced their talent and self-esteem. It was beautiful and breath-taking. These events were fully organized and directed by our young monitors which gain expertise everyday.
  • Our monitors keep training: one hour per week of choral direction, rythms, repertoire and concert set up.
  • Our progam is now benefitting 9 institutions, 250 children directly, and 2 new institutiones assigned to 9 of our young monitors in alliance with Municipio de Medellin, from which a total of 650 students are being taught.
We invite you to share our webpage and the pictures attached. New videos were posted and it is all very outstanding!
Once again thank you for your donations, your interest. All of the above was possible with YOUR HELP!
Happy Halloween!!!!
