It has been a terrible year since the violence erupted in April in Sudan. Virtually no aid reaches remote villages in Darfur. Families who live in remote villages, hundreds of miles away from the regional capital El Fasher in North Darfur, have been left with nothing.
But, thanks to you, we are now ready to help repair handpumps which have been left broken for far too long.
At long last we have the spare parts and repair kids for handpumps ready to go and, despite the violence, have found a means of delivering them to 16 villages so desperately in need.
Hand pumps have been massively overused night and day, and many are in need of repair.
We are desperate to get them working again.
At long last water will be flowing again and children and their families will no longer have to risk their lives on the daily walk for water.
Thank you so much for all your donations to our Water projects which have enabled us to plan this project.
This will help the 16 villages but there are many more where handpumps stand idle, unable to provide the thirst-quenching water, so desperately needed in the heat of Darfur.
Please do consider donating to our water projects to help us bring these handpumps back to life and thereby save the lives of many more mothers, children and babies.
