The sustainable sanitation program in Honduras continues to expand. The program of offering loans to families to construct or improve toilets through Municipal Associations of Water and Sanitation Committees (AJAASM) has been especially successful in El Negrito, where the loans distributed to families in the community of Las Crucitas No. 1 have been fully paid back to the water committee and the AJAASM. These recuperated funds will now be used to offer sanitation loans in the communities of El Congo, El Mango, and Gonzalo Maldonado. This model is also being implemented in San Antonio de Cortes, where by the end of the year the AJAASM had given out 15 sanitation loans in communities in 17-Communities Project, and Chinda, where loans have been disbursed thus far to 18 families in four communities..
