Because of your generosity and the continued support of the GlobalGiving community, Space of Peace was able to reach families living in extremely difficult conditions in the displacement camps of Khirbet Al-Joz in rural Idlib. Winter in the camps is particularly harsh, where thin tents and limited resources leave families exposed to cold temperatures and unsafe living conditions. Your support helped ensure that vulnerable families did not face this season alone.
During this reporting period, 32 of the most vulnerable displaced families received essential winter assistance, including blankets and winter kits designed to help them cope with the severe cold. These families included widows, children, and people living with disabilities who often face additional challenges in displacement settings.
Beyond providing winter supplies, our team also organized recreational and psychosocial support activities for children living in the camps. For many children, camp life can be stressful and unsafe, and opportunities for play, emotional expression, and learning are very limited. Through group games, interactive activities, and supportive sessions, children were able to enjoy moments of joy, connection, and emotional relief. These activities aimed to reduce stress, strengthen their sense of safety, and support their psychological well-being.
In total, 380 individuals benefited from this intervention, including 30 women, 12 men, 180 girls, and 150 boys. Among the beneficiaries were also persons with disabilities, including 3 adults and 5 children, who were prioritized to ensure that the assistance reached those with the greatest needs.
