The severe winter weather in Syria, worsened by climate change and the aftermath of the 2022 earthquake, exposes already vulnerable communities to freezing temperatures, illness, and deteriorating mental health. Families in camps and temporary shelters lack basic necessities like blankets, warm clothing, and heating materials, putting their lives at risk.
Space of Peace will provide tailored winter aid packages, including thermal blankets, coats, hats, gloves, heating materials, and hygiene kits, to 500 individuals. By purchasing supplies locally, the project will also support the local economy. Additionally, community awareness sessions will promote safe heating practices, reducing the risk of fire and respiratory hazards.
This project will save lives by addressing immediate winter survival needs and strengthen the resilience of vulnerable families against future emergencies. By fostering trust between communities and humanitarian organizations, it will also pave the way for sustainable recovery efforts and inclusive, gender-sensitive aid delivery.
