Dears,
On behalf of Space of Peace Organization and all the families reached through this project, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to GlobalGiving and to every generous donor who continues to stand beside vulnerable Syrian families.
Your support is not simply a donation. It is warmth during freezing nights, protection for children, reassurance for parents, and a powerful reminder to displaced families that they are not forgotten.
Every year, the winter season places already vulnerable families under enormous pressure. For families living in displacement camps and crisis-affected communities, winter is not only a change in weather. It brings serious challenges that affect every part of daily life.
Many families live in tents or poorly insulated shelters that offer very limited protection from cold temperatures, strong winds, and heavy rain. At the same time, high prices, limited livelihood opportunities, displacement, and poverty make it extremely difficult for families to purchase blankets, winter clothing, heating materials, and other basic necessities.
Parents are often forced to make painful choices between buying food, paying for heating, purchasing medicine, or providing warm clothing for their children. These repeated seasonal difficulties place families under severe emotional, financial, and physical stress, especially women-headed households, children, older persons, and people with disabilities.
Thanks to your generosity, Space of Peace was able to continue responding to these urgent winter needs during this reporting period.
In Khirbet Al-Joz displacement camp in rural Idlib, our team distributed 50 winter blankets to 50 vulnerable families.
These families included households led by mothers caring for their children, as well as families consisting of a mother, father, and three or four children. The blankets provided essential protection against the cold and helped families create safer and warmer sleeping conditions during difficult winter nights.
In addition, in rural Latakia, Space of Peace distributed 100 winter kits to 100 children. Each kit included a scarf, gloves, and a winter hat.
Among the children reached:
* 60 were girls
* 40 were boys
These simple but essential winter items helped children stay warm while going to school, playing, and carrying out their daily activities. For many families, purchasing these items would have placed an additional financial burden on already limited household resources.
Your support helped provide immediate protection from the cold, but its impact went far beyond the material assistance. Families felt seen, respected, and supported. Children received not only warm items, but also a sense of care and safety. Parents felt relief knowing that they were not facing the winter challenges alone.
We are deeply proud and grateful to be part of the GlobalGiving community. GlobalGiving’s continued trust in local organizations like Space of Peace strengthens our ability to respond quickly, reach communities directly, and deliver assistance in a way that respects dignity, inclusion, and local priorities.
The generosity of donors around the world gives us strength to continue our work. Every contribution, regardless of its size, becomes part of a wider chain of solidarity that reaches families during their most difficult moments.
Winter needs return every year, and the challenges facing displaced and vulnerable families remain significant. Continued support is essential to help families prepare for future winters, protect children from cold-related risks, and reduce the difficult choices families must make between food, warmth, health care, and other basic needs.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your compassion, your trust, and your continued belief in our mission.
Thank you for standing with Syrian families.
Thank you for helping us bring warmth, dignity, protection, and hope to those who need it most.
With heartfelt gratitude,
