Veterans are still one of the Most "At Risk"
By Lois Healy | Project Leader
We received many calls this past quarter to help Veterans in need but our Donations were low again this quarter. I have attributed it to the fact that there are so many people in need after this past year's Hurricanes Tornados, Floods and now fires people want to help but not sure where there money will be put to the best use.
Veterans have given their all to make our Country safe and secure and now most are faced with homelessness and Mental illness due what they have experienced during their time in service of our country. We were able with the donations that we did receive help a 100% disabled Veteran fix his water system for his house and get his air conditioner fixed all totaling $1500.
So thank you for all who helped make this possible, your donations always go to help a Veteran in need.

Veterans Matter
By Lois Healy | Project Leader
We received a call from one of our 100% disabled Elderly Veterans that had purchased a house last year in an area that had a well and sulfur water. He wasn't shown by the builder how to operate the system and therefore never plugged in. By not using the water system he was breathing in the sulfur every day and it had found it's way into his AC system and caused his Air Handler to corrode and living in Florida you must have air conditioning.
The Veteran called me and I sent a technician to his house who said the part to fix his air handler was $980 but he could fix it he had to order the part. I had the part installed and because this 100% disabled Elerly Veteran is on a fixed income we paid for the repair. I then sent a technician from a Water system service to figure out what if anything was wrong with his water system. Since it had never been used the technician we called did maintenance on the unit and ordered a part that we paid to have installed and got his water system working again. Without our assistance this Veteran would not have been able to pay for the repairs to his air handler and water system. Veterans Matter, that is why any donation that you make to this fund go to help Veterans in need. We know you have a choice when donating so we thank you for your help in making the lives of the individuals that served in the military a little easier!

Much Help Is Needed
By Lois Healy | CEO & Army Veteran
As inflation continues to rise and so do prices of goods and services Veterans in Need are generally left out in the cold (or heat) as the weather changes. We are experiencing more homeless Veterans than we have in years due to the economy downturn and Veterans returning from service not being able to make ends meet. This quarter we did not receive many donations therefore we were unable to help any Veterans. Our usual call from a Veteran varies from help with a car repair to groceries or to help with paying a utility bill. Your support for this project has made a difference in the lives of the men and women that have served our county and in some instances makes the difference if they are able to have food to eat or electricity. Thanks for all you do to support this much needed project.
