Juice Processing and Organizational Support

FORUDEF's efforts to implement a two-fold approach to community building through its juicing project has continued to build momentum in recent months.  Part of FORUDEF's organizational mandate is to enhance nutrition and health knowledge; the juicing project will support that goal by increasing access to vital nutrients that many rural Cameroonians lack.

 While fund development progresses, FORUDEF is working to raise nutritional and health awareness in local communities.  This has been achieved largely through sensitization meetings with various Common Interest Groups (CIGs) and village councils.  In addition, FORUDEF's weekly nutrition radio program broadcast from Buea has discussed the value of fruit, and encouraged listeners to consume it in various forms, including juice.  In these ways, FORUDEF intends to create a market for its juice products which will, in turn, boost health while simultaneously garnering income and establishing microenterprise.   FORUDEF staff have seen much growth in the community and individual mindset towards nutrition, and an increasing interest in the juice project.  As such, it is expected that by the time the fundraising stage is complete, the communities will also be prepared to particpate meaningfully in strengthening their families both physyicall and economically.

It’s another year 2014.  Our donors continue to make their commitment to see us serve our communities.  We wish you a wonderful and rewarding 2014 in all your engagements.  Since we received the last donations you made to this project, much has happened in fostering the impact of the project to FORUDEF and the communities we serve. 

As your donations continue to come in, we continue to add to the equipment we need for the project. Given the investment means available, we are continuing to process fruit and make juice on a small scale, in hope of increasing stocks and hence business.

We are excited about the potential demand volume of fresh fruit juice of pineapple, papaya, carrot, and mango.  Our supply and demand base is being built gradually. All of these would have not been possible without your support.  Thank you ever so much for your donations. We count your generosity to improve the lives of many in a part of the world you may not have seen before.  You are wonderful!
