Dear Donor,
Thank you for helping Development Alert promote safer healthcare environments and stronger community health preparedness.
Healthcare workers are essential to identifying, assessing, and caring for people affected by Ebola. They must be protected through appropriate infection prevention and control measures, adequate protective equipment, safe patient handling, and proper sanitation and waste management.
The current outbreak in the DRC continues to place considerable pressure on health services. The ECDC’s 3 November update reported 961 patients hospitalized in isolation and 10,532 confirmed cases across eight affected provinces. These figures reinforce the importance of protecting both patients and the people caring for them.
Development Alert’s preparedness priorities include promoting accurate infection prevention information, supporting access to essential hygiene and protective materials where resources allow, and encouraging communities to seek care through appropriate health facilities.
We also recognize the importance of ensuring that patients and their families are treated with dignity and that health workers have the support needed to perform their responsibilities safely.
Your support helps strengthen the community and healthcare systems that protect lives. Thank you for helping make safer care a priority.
