PUT UP HEALTH FACILITY IN ZAMBULKURA FOR 10,000 PEOPLE (54492)
Report on project 54492 - Put up a Health Facility in Zambulkura for 10,000 people by Rescue and Restore Hope Zambulkura Ghana (RRHZ). Accessibility to health care services to the people of Zambulkura and many other surrounding communities with a combined population of 10000 people has been a challenge for many years. When RRHZ started annual malaria health screenings and treatment in Zambulkura and its neighbouring communities in 2017, many lives were saved particularly children and pregnant women. This made the communities to made a request to RRHZ to build a 40 – bed capacity health facility and Health workers residence in Zambulkura to make health care easily accessible to the people in these deprived communities.
RRHZ considered the request for a health facility to be legitimate request and accepted to seek funding to construct a 40-bed capacity health facility in Zambulkura. The chief provided a large truck of land for the construction of the facility and health workers residence. Funds raised so far for the project has been used to construct the first phase of 2 rooms to serve as wards with each holding capacity of 8 beds. Funding is needed to continue this critical project to save lives but very slow in coming. We in Rescue and Restore Hope believe that this project is very necessary and still seeking funding to continue the construction to its completion and subsequent opening to serve the people of Zambulkura and surrounding communities.
Though, only the first phase of two rooms of the health facility has been constructed, during our malaria health screenings and treatments in Zambulkura we use the premise to carry out the exercise. We believe that when the health facility is operational it will also serve as immunization center, health education, provide antenatal services, deliveries and many other health care services. We are very grateful to our glorious donors and the wonderful GlobalGiving team. We owe all of you lots of gratitude for the support towards the construction of the health facility. Though there is a lot to be done before the completion and operationalization of the health facility, your donations are very much appreciated and together we shall work to complete the construction of the health facility and health staff residency to provide 24-hour health care services and touch lives positively in Zambulkura and neighbouring communities.
Thank you so very much to our donors and the GlobalGiving Team
