Dear GlobalGiving Supporters,

We hope your summer is off to a great start and we want to share some important news with you. While uplifting indigenous youth remains central to MSMC's mission, MSMC will be refocusing its GlobalGiving energy on a new project: training low-income women in the culinary arts with sustainable agriculture.

Imagine a culinary school that was not only good for people but for the environment, too. The Sustainable Culinary School provides free job training in the culinary arts for low-income community members, especially single mother head of households. The school also produces its own solar energy, has its own water source, and grows many of the ingredients - from herbs to fish - used in the classes. Through economic and environmental empowerment, the school will fight multi-generational poverty.

We hope that your commitment to MSMC will continue by supporting the Sustainable Culinary School. It is transformative to teach someone the skills they need to be able to provide for their family and take care of the earth at the same time. All of the details, including where to donate, are here: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/the-sustainable-culinary-school/.

As our final send off for the Indigenous Youth project, we wanted to share one last story of a youth you have helped: Aline.

Aline is a member of the Pitaguary tribe. We first profiled Aline back in 2016. Your donations allowed Aline to continue her education during a very difficult time for her family.

Because of your continued support, Aline is now pursuing higher education. She finished high school and is now in the first year of a business administration program. She is a role model for others. She is challenging the fears and stereotypes that hold back a lot of indigenous youth from not graduating high school.

While Aline has achieved so much, she still needs your support. As we wrap up the Indigenous Youth project's presence on GlobalGiving, please consider making a final donation to help us reach our $10,000 - we are almost there! Your support will allow Aline - and others like her - to continue to pursue her education and be a success story of an indigenous youth - and not just another statistic, another young person whose potential was squashed by poverty.

Thank you so much for all of your support over these years. We are so excited to continue working with you.
