Hello GlobalGiving supporters!
Today’s report comes to us from Juca, an indigenous youth of the Dessana tribe who was able to complete a certificate program in IT support – all because of your generous donations!
Juca shares:
I would first like to say thank you for the opportunities I have received since I joined the Indigenous Youth Achieving Dreams project three years ago. As a member of this project, I’ve been able to grow both professionally and spiritually. Because of this project, I was able to take classes in business event planning, small business entrepreneurship, financial management, how to enter the job market, human resources strategy planning, interpersonal relationships, and more.
I have felt supported from the very beginning of my involvement in the project. While preparing myself to enter the job market, I have also strengthened and deepened my indigenous identity. I always participate in gatherings of indigenous peoples in Ceará, as well as with the indigenous tribe Lakota Sul of North America when they come here to visit us in Brazil.
Thank you so much MSMC and GlobalGiving for all of your support, which has made my education possible and allowed me to fulfill my dream of pursuing a career in IT. I came from the Amazon, without any real life or professional experience. But today I am celebrating my graduation from my IT program.
There you have it GlobalGiving supporters: because of you, Juca is prepared to enter the job market and become an economically independent adult, all the while staying true to his indigenous identity. That is the power of the project you support.
From all of us, muito obrigada (thank you).
