Peace Club Collaboration and Peace Garden Launch

By Maxwell Akandwanaho | Central Region Team Leader

I hope this email finds you in good health and high spirits. I am writing on behalf of Uganda Unites to share some exciting news and updates regarding our recent activities in promoting peace and skilling young people.

In celebration of World Peace Day, Uganda Unites organized a special event that brought together members from two of our peace clubs, namely Christ the King High School and Lugoba Secondary School. It was particularly meaningful as one school hailed from a well-to-do community, while the other represented a not-so-well-to-do community. This collaboration aimed to bridge social and economic gaps by fostering mutual understanding and teamwork.

During this eventful day, the club members engaged in productive discussions and worked together to find solutions for two key issues impacting their communities: a sanitation problem and a tribal dispute within the school. We were delighted to witness the students' proactive approach and innovative thinking, resulting in remarkable solutions and actionable next steps to address these challenges effectively.

One of the highlights of the day was the launch of a Peace Garden, which serves as a sanctuary for students to reflect, find solace, and develop a deep sense of peace. This tranquil environment, adorned with beautiful scenery, provides a safe space for individuals to relax and rejuvenate. We believe that by creating such serene and conducive environments, we can address the pressing issue of depression that affects many students today.

The launch of the Peace Garden marked an important milestone in our commitment to fostering a harmonious and peaceful environment in Uganda. The success of this initiative has further inspired us to replicate this model in other schools and communities, with the hope of creating a more peaceful and cohesive society as a whole.

None of this would have been possible without the generous support from donors like yourself. Your belief in our mission and unwavering commitment to empowering young people has been instrumental in our endeavors. We are immensely grateful for your continued support and would like to express our sincere gratitude for standing alongside us in this journey.

Once again, thank you for your invaluable contribution to our cause. We look forward to updating you on our upcoming projects and the positive impact they create.
