In celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Malen care centers, we organized an Open Day full of recreational activities for the local community.
It was a very beautiful day – an excellent opportunity for the local community to gather around and have some fun. A group of godfathers, volunteers, and friends of the NGO got involved and came to our care center to see the dance show performed by our children under the directions of Merianne (a Finnish volunteer from the international volunteering program ‘Mensajeros del Mundo’). It was also a pleasure to see Mario Fuentes, the vice president of the local city council. After the event, we had ‘choripan’ (a sandwich with a grilled sausage) for lunch. Then we organized a soccer match and a variety of other recreational games.
The authorities of the city council have a lot of faith in us and have declared the care center of municipal and social interest.

En el marco de los festejos por el aniversario número 10 de los Hogares Malen, hemos organizado un día de festejos con puertas abiertas a la comunidad y actividades de recreación.
Fue un hermoso día que propició la oportunidad para que la comunidad local conociera el lugar y participara activamente de la diversionn. Tanto padrinos, como amigos y voluntarios de Mensajeros de la Paz disfrutaron de una coreografía de baile que realizaron las niñas lideradas por Merianne (voluntaria de Finlandia del programa ‘Mensajeros del Mundo’). También se contó con la presencia de Mario Fuentes, el vice presidente del consejo municipal.
Luego, se compartió un almuerzo que incluyó choripanes, se cerró con una tarde de juegos y un torneo de fútbol.
