Dear friends,
We are proud to tell you about the photography workshop we started with the girls about two months ago. To experience the world of pictures can offer new ways to see the world, it helps to choose what we want to frame and how we want to observe thoroughly.
Working in groups, within games and lots of laughters, the girls learn playfully how to connect to their environment. This could be anything: perhaps a yellow leaf telling us that autumn is coming, the hand of a friend or a beetle crawling along. When you turn on the cameras and sensitize yourself for what is surrounding you, there is a magic halo spreading everywhere. The world shows it's different colours and shapes and everyone playing this game has the power to choose what he wants to see and what he wants others to see. Their photos are their work and their decision.
During the last part of the workshop we come together to see the photos everyone took. We show them as projection on walls. The girls are having fun because they are the protagonists. While they are amazed by what they created with their own hands and own minds, we are surprised by the talent stemming from these photos. Nature, portraits, colours, shaddows, movements – every detail counts in the progress of experimenting.
Our final goal is to produce something that shows what everyone has learned. Every picture that is taken represents a moment and it's combination means movement, a story which is helping us to open our eyes towards the reality thousands of children are living in. Our great aim is not the art, it is mainly the way we are encouraging the girls to express themselves. That's why they are going to be the ones who speak about how they see the world and their rights.
With the help of your donations we are able to provide the equipment the girls need to express themselves and learn playfully.
Thanks a lot!
