Dear friends,
One day each year, Fundación Telefónica and its employees collaborate with socials projects all around the world because of their International Volunteers Day.
To celebrate this day of volunteering in Buenos Aires, they supported us with over 120 (!!) volunteers for painting our Pewmafemalen Home .
It was a very impressive event – in less than 6 hours – we achieved our desire to change our homes into more colourful and beautiful places for our children.
To keep up the surprise for the gils, they went on an excursion until evening.
At 10 a.m o'clock the event started with a short presentation of Mensajeros de la Paz and the Malen Care Centers. After having a quick breakfast, the volunteers of Mensajeros de la Paz prepared all materials and coordinated the volunteers of Telefónica in 16 fields of work on the whole area. The Painting-Show began. There were a variety of colours, of which each task force chose their favourites. Moreover a couple of volunteers helped our artist Andrés with finishing his awesome wall-painting of a sleeping child, who dreams of butterflies, dolphins, bears and many more animals which the children of Pewmafemalen had selected.
At 4 p.m o'clock the painting-spectacle was over. How impressive was it to see the brilliant result after weeks of preparing and one day of painting. But all the hard work and effort was worth it when we saw the smiling faces of the children.
