Tech2Teach: Driving the Next Chapter of Digital Learning in Rural Ghana

Organization: Village by Village

Project: Tech2Teach

Reporting Period: December 2025 – April 2026

Executive Overview

Tech2Teach continues to serve as Village by Village’s flagship digital education programme—bringing tablets, interactive learning apps, and trained local facilitators directly into rural Ghanaian classrooms where children would otherwise have no access to modern technology.

Through structured, weekly 45-minute sessions focused on English and Mathematics, Tech2Teach is fundamentally transforming how children learn, think, and envision their futures.

Over the past reporting period, the programme has achieved significant milestones:

  • Expanded Footprint: Reached new rural schools across target communities.

  • Updated Curriculum: Integrated interactive learning apps to deepen engagement.

  • New Module Launch: Introduced the "Digital Confidence" module, empowering learners to navigate technology safely beyond core academic subjects.

Key Findings & Field Data (Dec 2025 – Apr 2026)1. Expanding Access & Harnessing Curiosity

  • 100% Exclusive Reliance: 100% of participating pupils continue to rely entirely on Tech2Teach as their sole point of access to tablets or smart devices.

  • Ripple Effect in Communities: Over 90% of students report actively teaching siblings or friends the basic digital skills they acquired during weekly sessions.

  • Sustained Motivation: 98% of learners express a firm belief that digital literacy will directly influence their future success—reflecting deep, lasting awareness of tech relevance.

2. Academic Growth & Positive Classroom Dynamics

  • Measurable Progress: 98% of children reported improved grades in English and Maths, a trend directly corroborated by local teachers who report marked increases in daily classroom participation.

  • Emotional Well-being: 95% of students describe feeling happy and confident during Tech2Teach activities—more than double the positivity levels recorded during traditional chalkboard lessons.

  • Peer-Led Mentorship: Facilitators report a natural rise in peer support, with students actively helping classmates troubleshoot challenges and master exercises.

3. Elevating Aspirations & Self-Belief

  • Expanding Horizons: Learners consistently share that Tech2Teach has "opened their eyes" to future careers in software development, nursing, teaching, and entrepreneurship.

  • Social Impact Focus: A growing number of children express interest in "using computers to help people," showing early recognition of technology as a tool for community benefit.

  • Overcoming Obstacles: While financial hardship remains the primary barrier to continuing formal education, students view tech skills as a vital resource to bridge learning gaps when school materials are scarce.

Why Your Ongoing Support Matters

Tech2Teach is more than a digital learning initiative—it is a catalyst for equity, resilience, and opportunity. For children growing up without digital devices at home, this project bridges the digital divide and instills lifelong confidence.

With continued donor support, Village by Village will:

  1. Sustain Core Lessons: Maintain and expand weekly digital sessions across participating villages.

  2. Broaden Reach: Extend delivery to additional rural schools in the Abenta, Apus Wawase, and Attabui areas.

  3. Enrich Content: Introduce new modules covering science, financial literacy, and digital wellbeing.

  4. Build Problem-Solving Skills: Incorporate early coding and logic-based games to foster creativity and analytical thinking.

  5. Empower Local Leaders: Train additional community-based facilitators for sustainable, locally led delivery.

Looking Ahead

In the upcoming phase, Tech2Teach aims to:

  • Double the number of active learners across our partner networks.

  • Enhance local teacher training to integrate digital tools across broader school subjects.

  • Trial Group-Learning Hubs to ensure out-of-school children and youth in remote areas can access tablets and guided learning.

By deepening community ownership and strengthening local digital infrastructure, Tech2Teach is shaping a future where every child—no matter how remote their village—has the tools to learn, explore, and thrive.

Thank you for your ongoing partnership.

Together, we are building futures powered by education, technology, and opportunity.
