Tech2Teach: Driving the Next Chapter of Digital Learning in Rural Ghana

Tech2Teach continues to be Village by Village’s flagship digital education programme—bringing iPads, interactive apps, and trained facilitators into rural classrooms where children would otherwise have no contact with technology.

Through weekly 45-minute sessions in English and Maths, the project keeps transforming how children learn, think, and dream about their futures.

Since the last report, Tech2Teach has expanded into new schools, introduced updated learning apps, and launched a “Digital Confidence” module designed to help learners safely explore technology beyond academics.

Key Findings (December 2025- April 2026)

1. Access to Technology and Digital Curiosity Continue to Grow

  • 100% of participating pupils still rely entirely on Tech2Teach for access to tablets or any smart devices.
  • Digital curiosity is deepening: more than 90% say they now teach siblings or friends basic skills they’ve learned from the tablets.
  • 98% believe digital literacy will strongly influence their future success—up from 99% earlier, showing sustained motivation and understanding of its relevance.

2. Academic, Emotional, and Social Gains Strengthened

  • 98% of children report improved grades in English and Maths, with teachers confirming greater class participation.
  • Classroom mood remains strikingly strong:
    • 95% describe feeling happy and confident during Tech2Teach activities.
    • This is still more than twice the positivity levels seen in traditional chalkboard lessons.
  • Facilitators note that students are now supporting each other’s learning—peer mentoring has become common in every session.

3. Growing Aspirations and Self-Belief

  • Children consistently describe Tech2Teach as “opening their eyes” to careers like teaching, nursing, software development, and entrepreneurship.
  • Many now express interest in “using computers to help people,” showing early understanding of tech’s social value.
  • Financial hardship remains the most-cited barrier to education continuity, but learners also identify technology as a “way to catch up” when school resources are scarce.

Why Your Ongoing Support Matters

Tech2Teach is not simply a digital learning project—it’s a catalyst for equity and opportunity. For children who have never touched a digital screen at home, this programme levels the educational field and builds lifelong digital confidence.

With your support, Village by Village will continue to:

  • Maintain and extend weekly digital lessons across participating villages
  • Expand reach to additional rural schools in the Abenta, Apus Wawase, and Attabui areas
  • Add new learning content, including science, financial literacy, and wellbeing apps
  • Introduce early coding and problem-solving games to strengthen creativity and digital confidence
  • Train more local facilitators, ensuring sustainable, community-led delivery

Looking Ahead

Over the next phase, Tech2Teach aims to double the number of active learners, enhance teacher training, and trial group-learning hubs where children without school access can still benefit from the tablets.

By deepening community ownership and strengthening digital infrastructure, Tech2Teach is shaping a future where every child—no matter how remote their village—can access tools for learning, curiosity, and hope.

Thank you for being part of this journey.
Together, we’re building futures powered by learning, technology, and opportunity.
