Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your support to our project supporting small business for poor entrepreneurs. Most often poor entrepreneurs lack the capital in order to pump-prime their business and they resort to borrowing from moneylenders at very high interest rates. Instead of improving their living conditions, they become more destitute and mired in debts that they have difficulty to pay. Our accomplishment this reporting period is that we are able to tap local resources in the area and asssist a total of 55 entrepreneurs mostly women develop their own product lines. The products that they started with are coconut vinegar from coconut water, spiced chili paste, turmeric powder, production of organic fertilizer, raising of ducks for eggs and meat and raising of chickens and goats. We designed our initiative in such a way that repayments will be used by other beneficiaries wishing to undertake or expand their own livelihoods.

Again thank you very much.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora

Piglets as livelihood enterprise
Piglets as livelihood enterprise

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing small business for poor entrepreneurs. This project is very important because for a small support, local people here are able to be economically stable and will never go hungry again. This reporting period we provided support in terms of pig raising livelihood because pigs are economical to grow, command high price in the market and demand is always high. We provided piglets and technical training to growers so that they grow the pigs using feeds that can be found around the house. These are kitchen waste, root crops, banana trunks and legume grasses that are high in protein and nutrients. In this way they get savings and high profit margin. Some of our entrepreneurs are selling young pigs which command much higher price and are popular during fiesta celebrations. This reporting period, we are able to support a total of 15 farmers using this design.

Again thank you very much for your generosity.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing entrepreneurship support to poor families here. We are increasingly shifting our focus to support women who are engaged in small and micro-enterprises. This reporting period we launched our duck-based livelihood initiative by providing our clients with 15 ducklings which they will raise themselves and using local feeds available in their backyard comprising kitchen waste, excess root crops, banana trunks and coconut meat to feed the ducks with use teaching them the proper ratio in order to produce fat ducks. The ducks are raised for their eggs and meat which the beneficiaries can sell to their neighbors for income or they can use the meat to improve their nutrition. Some of the eggs will be hatched to raise new ducks in a sustainable manner. We have released a total of 1,200 ducks to 80 farming families this reporting period. The next steps will be to follow-up and provide technical support to ensure success of this project.

Hoping for your continuing support.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora Sayre

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project providing small business support to poor entrepreneurs. We are happy to inform you that during this reporting period we are able to support a women's cooperative so that they will be able to market their products to the City which is Cagayan de Oro. Their problem is transport and then labeling and presentation of their products while in the market. We assisted them by providing a truck and briefing them on how to present and position their products which consist of organic coffee, fruits, vegetables, root crops and coconuts. We will be doing this once a week in order to provide continuing support to the cooperative.

Again thank you very much for your generosity.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora

Happy holidays
Happy holidays

Dear Friend,

Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our project supporting small business for poor entrepreneurs. The project is indeed very effective in providing regular income for a lot of families here and by next year we intend to expand these to our other project area in Leyte where we successfully implemented water and sanitation initiatives during Typhoon Haiyan.

This holiday season we took a small break and instead of focusing on business development, we provided nutritious meals to children of our beneficiaries. We were able to feed 300 children in our project areas. By early next year we will resume our loaning and loan collection operation.

Again, thank you very much and Happy Holidays.

Very sincerely yours,

Cora
