Many playgrounds were lost in Tohoku region because of the tsunami damage or required constructions of temporary houses. Therefore, we provide children with opportunities for play at a place, such as a car parking in a temporary houses area and an open space surrounding the area, by the Play Kitchen Car, called ‘Sammy’.
By changing the place into a playground, we are creating opportunities of communication among people living the area.
The other day, when we played with three preschool children, a first year elementally school girl came and played with us. Just as she was going back, they invited to go back together. Then, she used a long way in order to do that. Their parents watched over them with warm feelings. Play gave them the opportunity of communication between not only children but also parents.
