Our Prevention Education Program works with community partners to fulfill our mission of someday ending domestic violence. We recently doubled our team and now have two full-time prevention education positions, enabling us to reach more students and community members. We’re excited to be expanding our domestic and sexual violence prevention efforts into the hospitality industry!
Three local restaurants, Church, Dig A Pony, and The 1905, recently invited our Prevention Education team to host a special workshop with their teams. They are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for both staff and customers, so we explored tools and tactics for addressing gendered violence, and shared about available resources.
“Church has embarked on a long-term partnership with Raphael House in order to prevent sexual assault and coercion in the hospitality industry. Our hope is to make a powerful and lasting impact on bar and restaurant culture in order to make our establishments safe and welcoming to all. We value safety, inclusion, support, and respect as essential tenets of the community we all want and deserve.” – Steven Cook, Church Bar
We look forward to growing this partnership long-term, and working together to create meaningful change within the bar and restaurant industry.
