Raphael House's emergency shelter provides a safe haven to adults and children fleeing intimate partner violence, and we proudly offer ongoing and personalized support to help them thrive after abuse. We work tirelessly to break the cycle of violence through prevention education training in local schools and in our community. Thanks to donors like you, we're ensuring that survivors find the hope, healing, and independence they deserve - while building a bright future that's free from violence.
Domestic violence is a pattern of coercive tactics that can include physical, psychological, sexual, economic, and emotional abuse, perpetrated by one person against an intimate partner, with the goal of establishing and maintaining power and control. Domestic violence is a crime, and it occurs every 15 to 18 seconds in the United States. 75% of women who are murdered in this country are murdered by an intimate partner.
Our emergency shelter serves individuals and families of all backgrounds, cultures, ages, genders, and sexual orientations. We offer shelter, food, clothing, case management, resource referral, and other vital services to survivors of violence and their children.
In addition to immediate safety, survivors have access to ongoing programs and case management designed to help them achieve permanent housing, employment, and self-sufficiency.
