Project Progress Report: Supporting Abandoned Children to Find Local Families

Date: October 9, 2024

Overview:

The project "Support Abandoned Children to Find Local Families" continues to make notable progress. Since the last update, our team has worked tirelessly to ensure the reunification, adoption, and support of children under our care. This report highlights the recent achievements and outlines the next steps in the project, including updates on the reunification of three children and the educational success of two boys.

Progress Highlights:

  1. Reunification of Three Children:

    • We are pleased to report significant progress in the reunification process for Baby Saumu, Esther, and Lindah and baby Ismael. These children are now adopted that is{ baby Saumu and Ishamel} of being placed with their respective families, bringing them closer to experiencing the love and care they deserve in a family setting. The reunification is expected to be completed within the coming weeks for {Esther}, marking a major success in our efforts to reconnect abandoned children with their families.
  2. Educational Milestones for Clifford and Henry:

    • Clifford and Henry, two boys who have been with us for several years, successfully completed their high school education. Both boys have not only excelled academically but have also secured full scholarships for their university programs. This is a testament to their hard work, determination, and the support they received at Diani Children's Village. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and are committed to supporting them as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.
  3. Adoption of Baby Hope:

    • The adoption process for Baby Hope is nearing completion. After months of careful preparation and legal processes, we are delighted to announce that her adoption is in its final stages. This milestone brings us closer to providing Hope with a loving, permanent family. We anticipate the formal adoption process to be finalized very soon. There was legal problems to this but we have successful completed the process.

Challenges and Solutions:

  • Adoption Delays: While we have made significant strides in adoption processes, the legal requirements and administrative delays continue to pose challenges. We remain in close coordination with Buckner Adoption Agency to streamline these processes and address any obstacles promptly.

  • Reunification Complexity: Reunifying children with their families often requires extensive background checks and careful planning to ensure the children's well-being. Our team has worked closely with social workers and local authorities to facilitate this process for Baby Saumu, Baby Esther, and Grace.

Next Steps:

a. Finalize the adoption process for Baby Hope and ensure a smooth transition to her new family.

b. Complete the reunification process for Esther, ensuring continued support as they reintegrate into their families.

c. Continue supporting Clifford and Henry as they begin their university education, ensuring they have the resources and guidance needed to succeed.

d. Strengthen our collaboration with Buckner Adoption Agency and other stakeholders to expedite future adoptions and improve the efficiency of the process.

Conclusion:

The "Support Abandoned Children to Find Local Families" project remains steadfast in its mission to provide abandoned children with the stability and love of a family. The recent progress, including the successful reunification of three children, the academic accomplishments of Clifford and Henry, and the near-completion of Baby Hope's adoption, are clear indicators of our dedication. We look forward to continuing this vital work with the support of our partners and stakeholders.
