Dear Friends,
Greetings from SUKRUPA.
Here we are with another round of updates from our Project!!!! These few months have been packed with many activities as the school year 2013-14 has come to an end. Before, the children started preparing for their final term exam, they had their Annual Sport's meet, that started with a well-synchronized march-past by all the four houses : yellow, green, blue & red. It was indeed a fun day for everyone.....
Soon after their exam, it was time for SUMMER CAMP!! This year, we planned something different for our high school children. Since, they come from poor scio-economic background it is important that they are trained in their life skills which will help them to face life ahead with ease. Though, fun-filled activities were very much part of the camp, they also had sessions on life skills for a week. These sessions were taught adopting an interactive method in which many videos were played and discussions were generated among the children.
Meanwhile, the results of the final term exams has also been declared. We are very happy that almost everyone have done well in their exam. Thanks to our teachers for taking extra bit of initiative to groom these bright children.
Sharing the profile of Prathyusha ..............
Prathyusha is one of the bright students in SUKRUPA. She has recently been promoted to 9th Standard; all these years she has always scored 1st rank in the class. Prathyusha lost her father at an early age. Her mother who was a housewife then, was devastated. With her 3 children, she didn’t know how to move forward. At that time SUKRUPA intervened and took matters in their hand. Prathyusha’s mother was provided with teacher’s training and was employed as a teacher here at SUKRUPA Education Centre. Now, she is a breadwinner of the family and very encouraging to see that her three children including Prathyusha is doing very well in school.
A multi-faceted girl that she is, Prathyusha wants to be a Computer Engineer. Her love for reading is reflected from the books that she issues from the school library. She says “I love reading, recently I finished Arabian Nights. I also make sure that my younger sister and brother develops reading habit and so, I get books for them too”. When asked about whether she helps her siblings with their studies, she promptly states “They are good in studies, I don’t need to help them every day. Whenever they have any problem with any subjects, I am there to help them”
Prathyusha is part of the ‘Little Angel Choir Group” too. She is trained by Bangalore School of Music along-with the other choir members.
Like Prathyusha, we have many girls studying in SUKRUPA who have talents & skills; they just need our support to dream, become independent & to earn their own identity!!!
As we share our updates with you all, our heartfelt thanks for your continued support to our children. Hope we can keep our association for a long time and reach more number of children who needs our service.
