There was a period between September and December 2020 when activities at the Youlou Art Centre were more or less back to normal, since the pandemic started in March.
Schools reopened in September and were fine until December when they closed for the Christmas Holidays. Since then schools have not been able to reopen. An unofficial lockdown is taking place on the island.
At the Youlou Art Centre all activities have ceased.
During the normal period the Youlou Art Centre continued offering art classes. The Saturday morning art for children titled " Hello Art " continued and a new weekly art class started for adults.
There was an opening reception on Saturday, December 12, for the show 3 + 3. This show featured the art work of three painters and three photographers. The plan is to keep the show up until the end of March and maybe longer.
At the moment there are no visitors.
We are standing still and hoping for better days. It is sad!
However we continue to plan for the future. We are planning an art teachers show and a one woman show by an artists who is an alum of the "Growing Young SVG Artists" programme. All very exciting upcoming events.
Donors we need your support through these dark times.
Dawn is around the corner. We thank you for your continued support.
