Violent Eruption of Volcano In St. Vincent

By Camille Musser | Founder

The volcano the night before the violent eruption

On Friday morning, April 9th around 8: 50 am the volcano, La Soufriere started to erupt violently on the island of St. Vincent.
People who live near the volcano were evacuated the day before and placed in shelters. This violent eruption continued throughout the day.  The next day, Saturday,  the island was covered with ash. In some areas several feet and others just a dusting.
It is a distrissing state of affairs.
No one knows how long the volcano activities will continue - or how long it will be before the island returns to regular life. This is compounded by the fact that all this is happenig in the midst of a pamdemic. It is truly tragic!
Donors your full support is needed during this crisis. At the moment,
Youlou Arts is organizing to send art kits for the childen stuck in shelters.
We need your help more than ever. St. Vincent is truly going through a difficult time.
