Nurturing and encouraging the arts is critical. It is the driving force which keeps us sane and human.
In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, a developing country, the arts are in sore need of attention.
The struggle to sustain the arts there, is enormous. Through the persistence and focused attention of Youlou Arts Foundation, children of the nation are getting a visual arts education.
For over twenty years the organization has focused on nurturing and encouraging the arts. The first programme titled "Growing Young SVG Artists" was offered in one location in 2001. Today the programme is offered in five locations.
This year we launched two new initiatives for Secondary School Students. The first was an island wide art competition. Five students were awarded cash prizes. The second initiative is the offering of "Life" drawing classes to students from the Community College.
A huge amounts of energy, time and money is invested, to accomplish the mission. It is a constant challenge, yet vital to vital to accomplish our mission.
We rely on donors like you to help support and sustain our mission.
