The 2022 annual visual arts program organized by the Youlou Arts Foundation took place at the Youlou Art Centre. The program started on Monday, August 8 and ended Friday, August 19.

It focused on Climate Change and on the Right Excellent Joseph Chatoyer, the national hero of St. Vincent and the Grenadines

This year's title for the program was "It's Up To Me".

Art activities were designed to teach children to be creative, to sharpen their capacity to observe and use their imagination.

Sculptures were made of planet earth using paper mache. Construction paper was used to make machines for capturing and storing carbon dioxide. Poems, which focused on the planet earth were written by the children. After listening to the story of Chatoyer, the children were encouraged to make an illustrated book about his life.

. The field trip to the St. Vincent Botanical Garden was special. The garden was lush and beautiful. There the children staged a small protest about climate change. They chanted " We want you to panic. We want you to act,. You stole our furture and we want it back". Then they placed painted volcanic rooks, which they had painted the day before around the base of an old Banyan tree. Poems were recited as well.

One activity which stood out was the making a pop up card with a tree and two animals.

The 2022 program was well received. It was held in one location this year due to insufficent funds. However we have already started to make plans to have the program in 4 locations in 2023 as we did repandemic.

We contnue to look for a new home for the Centre. We are optimistic we will find a new home in 2023.

Donors, we thank for your support. You give us the courage and financial support to continue.

We want you to continue to support us. It's not easy carrying out our mission sans funds!

We always need financial support.
