Donors a big thank you for all you support.
Last year was not an easy one. But somehow we managed to pull through with your support.
For 2022, I am happy to say we started the year in good form.
On Saturday, January 8, our regular Saturday morning art classes for children ages 5 to 12 resumed. The last time we offered these classes was March 2020. We are thankful we are able to continue.
A year ago we decided to have "The Women's Show" in March instead of July. We thought this show would have more impact during this month, since traditionally March is known as the month when women all over the world are celebrated for their acheivements.
We organized a series of events to celebrate women artists.
These activities included a "Sip & Paint"event on Sunday, March 6.
The Opening Reception for the show titled "Women Take The Floor" was held on March 12.
14 women artists took part in this show. The reception was well attended. A violinist was hired to entertain the attendees and a local writer's group called "The Nucleus " was invited to read some of their work. It made for an enjoyable evening.
As I write this report the "Craft Fair" slated for March 25 to 27 is taking place.
Several local crafters were invited to take part in this event. They were able to display and sell their work at the Youlou Art Centre. From all reports the "Craft Fair" is going well.
We continue to organize art classes for adults, a print making workshop, and to offer the public more "Sip & Paints" events.
The past weeks were hectic, but we saw an increase in activity at the Centre which is exactly what we wanted.
Donors, we thank you for your valuable support, it means a great deal to us.
