Q3 2014
By Robert Taylor | President, SJD St Vincent de Paul Conference
In June our food pantry served 157 families including 420 adults and 278 children. In July we served 148 families including 372 adults and 273 children. With two service days remaining in August we have already served 128 families.
For the first time this summer we provided 100 backpack lunches to cover weekends for local children to supplement the summer school meals program.
In July we were able to provide over $800 in rent and utility assistance for five different families to enable them to stay in their homes or continue to have utility service.
Your support allows us to continue providing these services to those in need in our community and we thank you!

Q2 2014
By Robert Taylor | Conference President
During May 2014 we have again had an increase in the number of families served. For the month we averaged 12 families served per day which equated to a total of 388 adults and 292 kids. We distributed over 11,000 pounds of food during that time.
Our school backpack program reached an all time high of serving a total of 51 kids (at McKinley and Springville elementary schools) with food over the weekends.
We continue to offer limited assistance with utility and rent assistance to clients in need. A recent family's primary breadwinner had a stroke rendering them unable to work. We were able to provide the family with assistance to avoid a pending water shut off.
We thank you all so much for allowing us to continue helping those in need!

Q1 2014 Report
By Robert Taylor | Conference President
During the first three months of this year our average number of clients has dropped somewhat as is typical of this time of year, since clients normally have additional income due to receipt of tax refunds. We have also heard of some success stories where regular clients no longer need assistance after finding full time employment. However we continue to average approximately 10 client families per service day.
Our backpack program serves 44 children (33 at McKinley and 11 at Springville Elementary School). We average 900 pounds of food provided per month through this program. This represents an increase in amount of food provided due in large part to the increased number of extended weekends caused by the fewer number of school days.
Due in part to your generosity, we also continue to assist clients monthly with limited financial assistance for rental or utility payments. Most of these payments avert an imminent client eviction or utility shut off.
Thank you very much for your continuing support!
