All Ability Transkei Outreach
During the July school holidays, some of our I2B athletes and supporters took on the long road to the Eastern Cape to meet up with fellow sport ministry partners. I believe the Lord laid it on my heart to go and visit them.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we started our tour a day and a half behind schedule and only arrived at Willowvale the evening of the 5th of July. There we met the family of Mr. Mlamli and the whole neighbourhood also came to greet us!
We visited Butterworth where we invited the community of people with disabilities for a sports day. Word got out that we were visiting them and we received the opportunity to share our stories and reasons for visiting on air.
When we headed back to Willowvale to start our sport program, the field was already packed with children and we could create awareness for disabled sport. We used the evenings to build relationship with the family and friends and we had a big "jol" the evening with some dancing and music! At Butterworth we focused on adapted sports for volley ball, cricket, athletics and soccer.
We also stayed at Jongamanzi Cottages (500m from the Hole in the Wall!). We had time to rest and spend time together as an athletics family in the most beautiful creation.
I believe we have started a friendship with Mr. Zagallo and Mr. Mlamli that will take us back to Willowvale in the future. We would like to thank everyone who supported this mission - especially Maties and US Sport Science for your equipment and Shofar for the Quantum minibus.
All our love,
The Inspired 2 Become Team
