Reagan is going places I2B Bonteheuwel club leader, Reagan, is busy with a bricklaying course at Northlink College. Reagan has been one of the most consistent and loyal I2B skaters and we believe that he will reach great heights in the future!
Thank you to those individuals who have also been supporting Reagan through the years.
Expansion of I2B Park We finally moved all the steel frames into the skatepark. The next steps are to move the fence and set up these ramps.
New I2B shirts The I2B skimboarders are very excited about their new I2B shirts!

Career preparation Paul is an up and coming I2B athlete who is approaching his final year of primary school.
A career preparation organization is currently helping and guiding Paul with some important decisions that lie ahead. The organization does consultations, assessments and workshops to help individuals gain a better understanding of themselves while equipping them with practical information about subjects, requirements, courses and career opportunities.
CP National Conference I2B Coach, Fanie van der Merwe, and Dyan Buis were invited to speak about their sporting careers and achievements at the National CP Conference in Milnerton, Cape Town.
Educational Therapy by Jami van der Merwe
Further improvements After a series of events, where the therapy room at Raithby was vandalized, we decided that it is time to put up another black board. The children were all very excited about the new addition to the room!
I2B Cloeteville club Our I2B Cloetesville turnout has been especially large the last couple of weeks.
While still waiting for permission to start building their concrete park, we are maintaining the rail and cement area on which the kids can practice their skills.
Our older skaters have been really loyal and have continuously set a very good example to the other young club members.
A day in the life of an I2B Skate Coach...
I2B Kleinvlei Club We recently fixed I2B Kleinvlei club's skate rail.
The club members also started building a skate box (on their own!) and I came to help with the final touches.
Ultimate X skateboards sponsorship We are really grateful for the cool new skateboards that were donated to the I2B kids.
Kogel Bay skim outing Friends, Gareth and Dylan, flew down all the way from Nelspruit to join us at a skating competition in Cape Town. They also joined our skimboarding club and we decided to make the club session extra special by taking everyone to Kogel Bay for a skim. Out of everyone there, our dogs most probably enjoyed it the most!
Moose and his I2B Surfing crew have been surfing really hard. His team has also recently started coaching kids from Bright Lights safehouse. The children have really grown very fond of their new sport and new mentors.

Maties Para-Athletics Camp We invited the schools from Western Province to join our annual camp. We had just under 20 athletes who joined.
It was great to spend time with the athletes and to see their enthusiasm.
New I2B athletes Nur has been looking for a guide for quite some time and Clinton was keen to start guiding an athlete... and so, the two joined forces. I am really excited to see this duo competing at Nationals!
Exterra Warriors - Grabouw Inspired 2 Become partnered with other ogranisations and entered groups for an endurance competition in Grabouw - the groups focussed on swimming, cycling and trail running.
Visiting Vergenoegd Primer and Olifantsriver Centre Myself, Thabo and Karin visited Vergenoegd Primer and Olifantsriver Centre for Persons with Disabilities. We shared our stories with the awesome kids and on the same day we went to Vredendal to plan a disability sport awareness day.
Educational Therapy by Jami
Starting therapy The children at Raithby Primary were very eager to start therapy again and we believe that good things lie ahead for all of them this year.
Ethan and Aldorico wrote down their dreams for the year and afterwards they composed a short rap and beat-box about it!
I2B Year End Cup 2016 On the 10th and 11th of December Inspired2Become held the annual I2B Year End Cup at the I2B Skatepark in Somerset West!
A lot of hard work went into preparing for this event. Firstly, we had to fix the last part of the bowl that burnt in the beginning of the year.
Another addition to the park was the new quarter pipe we had to build in less than a week's time! With the help of our park supervisor (Godfrey), some local skaters and an old employee of the park (Scott), we managed to finish the ramp at 1am the evening before the event!
Besides fixing up damaged ramps and building new ones, we also gave the park a new paint coat which made it feel as good as new.
We were very thankful to have received amazing sponsored prizes from a variety of companies/individuals.
Thanks to our sponsors not one youngster had an empty spot in their tummy over the weekend!
On Saturday evening many of the skate club members slept over in the skatepark. They found it somewhat challenging to gather up enough energy for the best trick comp the following day:-)
Congratulations to everyone who competed in the I2B Year End Cup - to those who won and to those who gave it their all. We are extremely proud of each and every one of you!
I2B Year End Skim Jam 2016 On the 3rd of December we had our annual I2B Skim Jam at Camps Bay. We were surprised at the amount of skimboarders who joined the event and it was great getting skimmers from different areas together.
Thank you to eveyone from the USA who supported us with some awesome prizes!
Gayson's Gr. 7 Farewell One of the I2B Gordons Bay club members, Gayson, recently had his Gr. 7 farewell. During previous skimboarding competitions Gayson and his friends met fellow-skimboarder Cameron. They also laid their eyes upon his racing car and decided months ago to ask him to chauffeur Gayson to his Gr. 7 Farewell.
And so, myself, Gayson and Cameron (or as the kids like to call him Supersonic) buckled up and enjoyed sharing this special moment together.
HaveHeart 2016 HaveHeart held their annual longboarding competition. Inspired2Become also took a few ramps to the event and held a small skateboarding competition for the local skaters. Congratulations to the HaveHeart team for organizing yet another great event!
Ending off I2B Clubs We had the last club sessions for the year. Thank you to all the loyal club members for growing and giving your all this year!

One of the highlights of 2016 was to have Moose van Papendorp form part of the I2B Team!
Moose started his own I2B Surf Club and he is coaching youngsters from Nomzamo and Zola at the Strand Beach once a week.
His heart is really to see children's lives change and to be a father to the fatherless.
Moose, we are so excited to have you part of the I2B Team and look forward to see what surprises next year will hold!
