Welcome to the New School Year with Peraj!

Dear Donors,

We are pleased to inform you that we have begun a new school year with great enthusiasm in the Peraj program. Thanks to your generous support, we can continue our mission of transforming lives through comprehensive mentoring for children in vulnerable conditions and at risk of dropping out of school.

This new school year marks the beginning of new opportunities and challenges. We have welcomed a diverse and talented group of children and youth. Together, we will engage in activities designed to strengthen academic skills, boost self-confidence, and foster values of responsibility and commitment.

We are proud to announce that the Polytechnic University of Tulancingo, in the state of Hidalgo, has joined us, starting with 20 pairs (children and mentors). This new addition expands our reach and allows us to positively impact more students.

Additionally, we have begun negotiations with the Autonomous University of Yucatán, joining efforts to extend the program in the southeast of the country. This expansion will enable us to bring the positive impact of Peraj to other communities, benefiting more children who need our support.

Your donations have been fundamental in providing educational resources, teaching materials, and organizing workshops and activities that enrich the experience of our beneficiaries. Thanks to you, more children have the opportunity to discover their potential and achieve their goals.

We want to continue sharing with you inspiring stories of children who once faced academic and personal difficulties and are now achieving significant accomplishments thanks to the guidance and support they received from the Peraj program. These stories are a testament to the positive impact of Peraj and the transformative power of your generosity.

Closure of the School Year at UNAM

Dear Donors,

We are pleased to inform you about the successful conclusion of activities for the 2023-2024 school year of the Peraj Mexico program, implemented in various institutions of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

This year, the participating schools were the General Directorate of Guidance and Educational Assistance (DGOAE), the Faculty of Higher Studies (FES) Zaragoza, FES Acatlán, ENES Morelia, and FES Aragón.

It is worth noting that the partnership with UNAM has been fundamental to the continued success of Peraj Mexico. Twenty years ago, we started this program in collaboration with UNAM, and since then, we have worked together to expand and strengthen our activities. UNAM has been a key pillar in the development and growth of our program, providing the resources, support, and infrastructure necessary to positively impact the lives of thousands of children and young people.

Some of the activities carried out included:

- Academic and socio-emotional mentoring

- Personal development workshops

- Visits to museums and cultural events

- Recreational and sports activities

- DGOAE: 90

- FES Acatlán: 85

- FES Aragón: 50

- FES Zaragoza: 20

- ENES Morelia: 7

Total for the school year: 252

The 2023-2024 school year has been a period of great achievements and growth for the students participating in the Peraj Mexico program at UNAM institutions. Thanks to the generous support of donors from the GlobalGiving platform, we have been able to provide a comprehensive education, positively impacting the lives of hundreds of young people.

Toy delivery with corporate volunteering at Ciudad Universitaria,UNAM

Dear donors, we are pleased to share with you the details of our recent activity carried out in collaboration with the Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM). Thanks to your support, we were able to organize a unique toy delivery event, enriched by the participation of corporate volunteers from Gerdau Corsa and, most importantly, the joy of the children in the program.

The day began with a warm welcome from university authorities to the corporate volunteers and members of the Peraj México team. The children, coming from nearby communities and belonging to the Peraj México program, arrived with smiles and contagious energy. The atmosphere filled with laughter, games, and moments of happiness as the little ones explored the different toys and excitedly shared their discoveries.

Corporate volunteers not only took charge of distributing the toys but also joined in the playful activities, establishing meaningful connections with the children and fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie and fun.

The toy delivery not only brought immediate joy to the beneficiary children but also had a profound impact on their emotional well-being and personal development. By providing them with the opportunity to play, explore, and contribute to strengthening their self-esteem, creativity, and social skills.

Furthermore, collaborating with corporate volunteers helped raise awareness about the importance of volunteering and social commitment, inspiring more people to actively engage in supporting vulnerable children and youth.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to each of you, our valuable donors, for making this wonderful activity possible.
