The end of the year is here again and your eighth grade children are preparing for their national exams. There are smiles all over their faces as they are graduating and getting ready for high school. It is always a big transition for them but the good thing is that YOU have prepared them well by providing quality education that will see them pass their exams! They have proved that through their pre tests exams, tumaini school has been the 1st position twice out of 132 schools. Two pupils have been the best in mathematics in all the tests.
As many pupils worry on the performance and where they will join, YOUR children are looking forward to high scores and joining good high schools in the country. This wouldn’t be so without YOU, all the high expectation in YOUR children’s education life is because of YOU! YOU have made all these happen, YOU have made their lives shine just like other children who have parents and families. YOU have given them whatever any child would need to be a better person.
We have 26 candidates this year and the exam starts on the 1st November. They are well prepared and looking forward to this day. YOU have provided reading materials, text books, tuition and meals. The environment is conducive for learning and all is because of YOU. YOUR monthly support has made a big difference in the lives of the children and the community in general.
Everyday, every week and every month YOUR children are excelling in each and every area. Their education is beyond imagination, staying at school without any inference is changing the performance every time they sit for an exam. The feeding program at the school is keeping them healthy all the time.
YOU have given your children the best learning environment which is making them to be among the top students. We are focusing on our young pupils who are in baby class up to grade three! They are now tested with other schools, they are the best in reading which we should all be proud of. This is because YOU have provided the materials they need.
Mark is one of our good baby class pupils who is working hard and reading is his best. He was the best and this amazed us all! We cant give YOU the credit for making it happen and we are proud of you and your good work!
We would also like to update you on what is happening in our education sector. Our government is changing the education system which is going to affect us especially as course are concerned. We have started planning and we request that you share this out since we need to buy new course books. The whole system is changing and every thing will change. It is actually a difficulty transistion both for us and the students. There is power in the word of mouth, lets do it and get new books for our children!
YOUR children are back to school from the April school Holidays. YOU made it again on the back to school budget! The pencils, pens, writing materials were all purchased and your children have settled in for the second semester.
The candidates are now preparing and working hard for their final primary exams this year. You have enabled us to get the materials they need to pass their exams. YOUR commitment has seen all the candidates pass their exams. The environment is changing every year, becoming more conducive than before giving a fresh look to the children every day. You have provided for us to have the best teachers. YOUR students have been competing school within the county but this year they have promised to compete with the schools in other counties.
Last semester Charity was the champiion in mathematics, Sharon was leading in english! They both received certificates awards and we are proud of them. We are looking to their performance in their final exams. YOU MUST BE PROUD OF YOUR CHILDREN!
The first quarter of the New Year is almost ending! I can assure you that there are amazing things you are doing in children’s lives in rural western Kenya. Last year we had 31 pupils who graduated from the primary school and this year we have 27 who will also be graduating from primary school. What an AMAZING ACHIEVEMENT! YOU gave them an opportunity to finish their primary level, kept them in school, provided all the basic needs and to others YOU actually gave them a home. We have no words to express all these but it can be felt through the smiles on the faces of our children.
Last year apart from the children who have already joined high school we had 51 children in the home and now we have 57 meaning we have an additional of six. The six who have joined the Tumaini family are between the age of 3 weeks and 6yrs. Three of these children have sponsors and three still need sponsors. The sponsorship enables us to keep the children in school and provide their school supplies and healthcare. Through the volunteers who visited us last year we managed to paint their rooms and the study room. We also managed to purchase two baby coats for the babies and this has improved the environment.
We are very much grateful for your monthly support towards the wellbeing of these children, Tumaini as an organization and the community. You might not understand the difference and the change but we can feel it. As the number of the children increase it becomes a challenge as every child has to be taken good care of and has to be given the attention just like other children. It is in this regard that we kindly remind you to help us expand our sponsors’ family by sharing with friends, relatives and groups. The needs are overwhelming and we believe as we continue to work together as a team, hold hands together, share with others, we are going to achieve more. We are changing this community forever and for good!
Thank you friends for your compassion and love

2015 you did a wonderful job! You didnt just provide education and basic needs but you gave YOUR children an opportunity to exercise their talents. We had four soccer teams who played ofher four teams from Nairobi which is our capital city! These were the hapiest moments and you could tell from tbeir excitements!
Playing andspending time with the city kids was a big deal! We were amazed to see how talentd the children and youths are! We have great talents that need to be mentored. We have achieved this because of you! We only mobilize and you do the rest, your support has made a big difference in the lives and community. You might just not know, but the sacrifice you make is doing wonders.
It is my prayer you will help us next year by introducing friends, as you can see our umber of donors has not changed and we hope that it will change. We are also hoping that we will be able to utilise all the opportunities provided by global giving to increase our funds. The needs are many but we are doing what we can, we feel sad saying no to other cases but we can just do what we can. Lets join hands and change the world!
Have a happy and prosperous new year!
