Summary

Tumaini is committed to educating over 350 orphaned and vulnerable children in primary, secondary, and vocational schools and aims to reach more than 1,000 in the future. Many of these children are cared for by grandmothers and caregivers and often walk miles to attend school. Your donations provide essential resources like clean drinking water, nutritious meals, high-quality education, medicine, sanitary products, and school supplies, as well as a safe place to learn and interact with peers.

Challenge

Approximately 3.6 million Kenyan children are orphans or classified as vulnerable. Of these, 646,887 have lost both parents, while 2.6 million have lost at least one parent, with one million of those losses attributed to AIDS. Many other children face vulnerability due to poverty, family breakdown, and abandonment. This program aims to positively impact over 2,000 orphans and vulnerable children in western Kenya, by addressing their critical needs and providing support for a brighter future

Solution

By sponsoring a child, we ensure a long-term impact in life-changing ways, (both the children and their families) empowering them as they learn, grow, and dream. A child receives education, nutritious food, medical attention, and moral support. Because of our community-focused solutions, for every child you help, four or more children in the family benefit too, meaning you can make an even bigger impact

Long-Term Impact

The program will provide quality education to over 2,000 orphaned and vulnerable children in primary, secondary, and vocational schools, allowing them to break the cycle of poverty. Through our prevention interventions, we families will be empowered to create lasting, positive change in their lives and the entire community. By investing in education and support, we will foster a brighter future for these children and those around them.
