Dear Supporters and Friends,
Romania Animal Rescue and our sister charity Animal Spay Neuter International have been extremely busy with cat spays and neuters in Romania, and have traveled to help in Bulgaria as well. In Romania we provide cat spays and neuters in many locations as our funding allows, as well as run a feral cat spay program for up to 100 cats per month in Craiova and Bucharest in cooperation with NetAp from Switzerland. We also reach out to villages and communities to help animals with spay and neuter as well as veterinary care, often the only time a cat or dog will see a vet. Please see the video of HOPE, our mobile spay clinic, that has been busy traveling to some of the most rural villages to spay and neuter and provide vet care for cats and dogs. In total, RAR/ASNI have spayed and neutered over 48,400 animals.
We hope to continue with this extremely important work and expand to help even more, but we need your support. I have the photo of a kitten who was found by students at the school yard.....luckily these students took the kitty to the clinic in Craiova and the RAR Homeless Animals Hospital project was able help the kitten, now named BunBun. Not all kittens are as lucky as BunBun, who was adopted in the UK by a lovely lady who read of his plight. Many if not most cats and kittens roam the streets and forests starving and full of parasites, some with injuries like BunBun's - this is why we do what we do - to stop the birth of unwanted animals that will be abandoned to suffer.
Here is what Raluca, our project coordinator in Bucharest for our monthly spay program there, sent to me:
"As always, we have people outside Bucharest coming with dogs and cats, we have dogs taken from the street and then adopted by those who bring them, if there is no danger of having puppies. Also, some of the cats and kittens were found on the street by the vet team and they managed to find adopters for them after spaying. The phone is ringing and ringing, people have become more and more aware of the necessity of spaying and are very keen to bring their animals. This is why we need your donations to help us spay/neuter as many as possible.
Thank you to all the RAR/ASNI donors who make this possible, thank you Nancy Janes and Dr. Aurelian Stefan for your great medical team and thank you to all volunteers - without your help we can't do anything!"
We would like to thank YOU, our donors, who allow us to help in so many places! Without donations, we could do nothing!
