RAR is a USA 501 (c) 3 established in 2003 to establish and promote animal welfare in the country of Romania. We provide thousands of sterilizations to help control the unwanted animal crisis and suffering of abandoned animals. We do sterilizations (approaching 160,000 as of August 31, 2026) at Center of Hope hospital, in our mobile caravan, on mobile multi-day missions whereby a gymnasium or other such facility is provided by the Mayor. In 2025 alone, RAR provided over 13,000 sterilizations. 4000 animals each year are treated under our Homeless Animal Hospital Program. 600 shelter animals are provided food each month. 700 veterinarians from 17 countries have attended the Veterinary Training Camp Program in Romania, held at Center of Hope Veterinary Campus outside Bucharest, to learn highly skilled sterilization techniques. We hold events, seminars, school programs and field trips to Center of Hope for children and veterinary students. The Kindness Patrol mission reaches out to the animals living on the streets, forests and fields, providing them with humane sedation and transportation to Center of Hope hospital. Here they are sterilized, vaccinated, treated for parasites, and receive any necessary veterinary treatments. After release from the hospital, they are either returned to their locations or put up for adoption if possible. 1500+ adoptions have been done through RAR, and more adoptions through our International Adoption Partners to Holland, Belgium, Germany, the UK, Austria and Switzerland.
