Seventy cats in the shelter have been vaccinated against feline distempter this month. The cost of the vaccines have increased enormously. The vaccines are essential as they protect the cats from viruses. Many of our new residents are rescues from hospitals. These cats cannot be put back in the hospitals. The cats have been spayed and vaccinated. The cats that are rescued are also vaccinated before they are put back in their territory.
More than 1000 street dogs and 70 cats are being sterilized every month in the Blue Cross of India. This is besides hundreds of cats and dogs that are rescued by our ambulances every month.
