LSEED Center launches new social enterprise programs

By Norby R. Salonga | Director, LSEED Center

As part of its effort to sustain its existing community-based social enterprises and to involve more stakeholders in the process of building a social enterprise sector, the Lasallian Social Enterprise for Economic Development (LSEED) Center launched three more programs in social entrepreneurship, namely: Angat Buhay Young Social Entrepreneurs Program; KAagapay sa Yugto-yugto at Abot-kayang Negosyo; and Social Enterprise Development for Student Organizations.

As of December 2021, both ABY SEP and KAYA have already completed capacity building sessions to around 180 social entrepreneurs and 37 social enterprises. ABY SEP teams are now in their pilot testing while KAYA participants are preparing for the implementation phase of their social enterprise projects. On the other hand, the application for the SEDSO Program is ongoing until February 2022.

It is also worth noting that the LSEED Internship and Volunteering Program (LIVP) recently completed the Batch 5 of its implementation with an overall evaluation of 4.78 or Excellent. This brings the LIVP evaluation for 5 batches to 4.88 (Excellent). LSEED Center also secured a partnership for the pilot implementation of a Diploma Certificate Course on Social Entrepreneurship which will be launched in March 2022.
