Sijonge Kuwe Youth Development Project was very active during this period from 10 November 2023 to 10 March 2024
30 youths,women and people with disabilities were trained in basic business skills.
21 youths were also trained in art/cultural skills on how to make beads,traditional hand bags and traditional necklaces.
10 youths started their own businesses including 4 who established a co-operatives making traditional wares.
4 workshops were conducted during this period and they are as follows:
(a)How to keep prper records for the business
(b)Budgeting for the small business
(c)Marketing for the business
(d)How to tender for the small business including costing & pricing for the tender.
Other Activies
Networking meetings were held with other stake holders in Khayelisha for the development of this area.
Attended Khayelitsha Development Forum meeting about new development in our ward whereby the ward Councillor reported about new projects in the area.
Conclusion
