Sijonge Kuwe Youth Dev.job creation Project-period November 2021 to March 2022

Sijonge Kuwe Youth Development Project was active as usual during this period despite Covid 19 restrictions and growing numbers of people being infected by this deadly virus.
20 youth were trained in beads making and all of them completed basuc business skills training which is a two week course on how to run a business.
8 businesses were assisted with Business Plan and two of these businesses were referred to financial organisations for business start ups,
2 Workshops were organised for local communities of Khayelitsha,one workshop was on Budgeting for the NGO sector and the other one was on insurance for the business.These workshops were attended by 18 participants frm the local community.
Plans for the future is to train more youth to start their own businesses since the government is starting to relax some of the lockdown restrictions.

Sijonge Kuwe Youth Development Project

It has been a challenging period for Sijonge Kuwe Youth Development Project and Covid 19 pandemic has really affected our operations.During the period from July to 10 November 2021,Sijonge Kuwe Youth Development Project traned 24 youth in cultural skills and business skills training.
20 youth businesses were counselled and counselling was maily on Marketing,Costing & Pricing,How to draw up a business plan,record keeping as well as how to do costing and pricing for the tender.
24 youth attended basic business skills training which is a basic business course on how to run a business.
9 people from the local community attended a workshop on budgeting for the NGO and the mojority of the participants were women and youth.
As we approach the festive season we wish all our beneficiaries and donors a peacefull festive seaso.

Progress Report to GlobalGiving: Period March to June 2021
The implementation of Sijonge Kuwe Youth Development Project started in 2019 and this report records activities from March 2021 to June 2021.During this period Sijonge Kuwe continued with its activities of technical skills training, business skills training, computer skills training, food gardening training, mentorship and Coved 19 prevention.
18 youth from Khayelitsha were trained in art/cultural skills training, 15 in business skills training, 6 in computer skills and 16 businesses were counseled.33 members of the community of Khayelitsha attended Coved 19 awareness workshop and on completion of the workshop were given masks, sanitizers to prevent the sage of the virus.8 people attended food gardening training so that they can sart food gardening to support themselves.
