Warm Greetings to all the well wishers of LBHC!!
The children at Lord Buddha Home for Children are doing well & growing with all the facilities. There are various moments other than their routine work which add some extra happiness in their lives and rejuvenate all of them. Few memorable moments were recorded in this quarter are as followed:
Christmas Day Celebration: As a multicultural country, all festivals are celebrated with lots of joy and similar enthusiasm. On 25th December at LBHC children celebrated Christmas, the birth day of Jesus Christ. In Indian culture, festivals are always celebrated with lights and colors, and Christmas is no exception. Children observed this day by remembering Jesus and his sacrifices. Fruit cakes were made, a child played the role of Santa, X-mas tree was decorated and all enjoyed together. Ton Kebal and the Secretary of NBJK, Mr Satish Girija was present on this special occasion with the children.
Farewell party of Ton Kebal: Ton Kebal is the President of SKB. He recently visited our home and stayed there for more than a month with the children. Since Ton spent good time with the children they felt very affectionate and attached with Ton. On 18th January his farewell was organized by the children. Children also made some paintings and gifts for Ton. A cultural programme was organized by the children in LBHC hall. House mother, Prema Devi sang a farewell song. Girls performed dance on different songs. Suman Kumar gave farewell speech and the Secretary of NBJK, Mr Satish Girija delivered honour of thanks.
68th Republic day celebration: Republic Day is a huge national event in India especially for students in the schools, colleges and other educational institutions. 26th of January every year is celebrated as Republic Day after 1950. The Constitution of India came into force on 26th of January in 1950, so we celebrate this day as the Republic Day every year. This year in 2017, we celebrated 68th republic day of India.
On the occasion of Republic Day, LBHC and Komal Pujan School jointly celebrated this day. Flag hoisting was done by Md. Minhaj the oldest staff of RTC at 9:30 AM. National Anthem was sung by the children and all staffs in salutation of the National Flag. After that the Principle of the KPPS Mr. Umashankar ji delivered a speech on Republic Day celebration. Assistant Program Coordinator of LBHC Vinod Kumar Rana gave a speech on the meaning and importance of the Republic Day. A small cultural program was also organized by the children. Few students sung patriotic song and few girl child performed on patriotic & motivational song like we shall overcome, Nanha Munna Rahi Hun, Mera Desh Mera Mulk etc.
Sarswati Puja celebration: on 1st February Saraswati Pujawas celebrated in whole North and central India. Basant Panchami, is a Hindu spring festival. In Indian culture this festival is dedicated to goddess Saraswati who is the ancient goddess of knowledge, language, music and all arts. On this occassion, at LBHC Children were dressed in yellow dresses particularly the girls, shared yellow colored snacks and sweets. The statue of Goddess Saraswati was brought are dressed in yellow. Children of LBHC celebrated Sarswati Puja at community hall of the centre. After worshiping, children ate prasadam and had sweets and fruits. On this special occasion, children had special food cooked by house mothers.
On 3.2.17 there was a joint food together. Children themselves cooked variety of foods of their choices like vegetables sweet rice, fries and chapatti. After cooking all the things were collected at community hall. Mothers and children were seated in row and the elder children served food to them. All the children enjoyed a lot with this party.
Additionally, children of LBHC are receiving regular coaching classes for Science and English by the private tutor every day. On a regular basis fruits & milk are being distributed thrice in a week for maintaining good health of the children.
