Dear Supporters and well wisher,
Christmas & New Year Greetings from LBHC!!
I am very much excited to share this quarterly report with all of you, as we had basket of activities in this quarter for Lord Budha Home for Children. I hope you will enjoy reading the report and watching photographs.
In India, 5th September is celebrated as Teaches' Day as a mark of tribute to the contribution made by teachers to the society. 5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, who was a staunch believer of education, and was the well-known diplomat, scholar, President of India and above all a Teacher. At LBHC since we value for quality education to all, discipline and keeping high morale we celebrate Teacher’s Day as an auspicious occasion. On this very day, LBHC children themselves decorated the stage. A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion of Teacher’s Day by the children. The highlights of the programs were –
In the speech competition 6 children participated while in dance competition 11 children participated. Children delivered speech on importance of education, our responsibilities in the society, personality of Dr. Sarvapalli Radha Krishnan etc. While in dance competition Pradip, Pankaj, Abhishek, Sunil, Chandan, Dinesh, Ankit , supriya, Priyanka, Ankush and Ajay presented three types of group dance. On this day students realize what it means to be a teacher and what it means to control the future of several students in their classes and also teachers are reminded what it felt like when they were the students.
All the NBJK staffs and some outside villagers enjoyed the program as viewers and appreciated children for their performance. The principal of Sakya Muni College, Secretary of Niranjana welfare trust Mr. Devendra pathak was the chief guest. All the children who participated or arranged the function were very happy and enjoyed this program.
Apart from this, another happening activity was visiting Birsa Munda Zoological Park, Ranchi. Whole LBHC team including children, house mothers, counsellor and office staffs went for whole day picnic celebration on 22nd October, 2016. The wildlife sanctuary of Jaivik Udyan in Jharkhand is especially popular not only in the state but all over the country of India, because of its quite unique collection of a variety of species of mammals. An animal adopting program is also a part of this park, which was started to improve public awareness about the importance of wild life protection and conservation. The reason behind selecting this place was to bring the children closure to the nature and its habitation. All of them enjoyed a lot especially children.
Furthermore, last two months in North India was festival season when we celebrated Durga Puja, Diwali and other festivals. At LBHC also children were super excited, for getting new dresses, variety of foods, and lots of outing. In Durga Puja every child got new dresses and visited Puja Pandals (a temporary structure set up to venerate the god). On Diwali, children decorated whole centre, lit diya (earthen pots), and worshiped God and enjoyed special dinner in the evening.
Additionally, on 16th October at LBHC children celebrated Birthday of the Co-founder (SKB, Netherlands) and donor of LBHC, Ms. Ine Buma. Ine Buma loves children very much and she herself is very adorable lady. Children are fond of her so they celebrate her Birthday every year whether she is present in the centre or not.
This all could not be possible without you generous support. I on behalf of whole NBJK and LBHC convey my gratitude to all of you. I hope our commitment will fulfil their life with happiness.
Thanking You
Warm Regards
