Pump Aid is a small, award-winning international development charity with a mission to eradicate water poverty in Malawi by 2030. We focus on increasing water, sanitation and hygiene access while empowering rural communities, especially the young, poor, and vulnerable. Pump Aid prioritises long-term sustainability through our innovative approach that addresses the underlying causes of water poverty while reducing dependence on external aid.
The goal of our work and this project is to increase safe water access in rural Malawian communities through expanding our professionalised repair and maintenance (PRM) services. In 2024, we reached even more communities and improved health, education and economic outcomes through providing reliable access to safe water. The statistics below show the impacts of our life-changing work in Malawi:
Pump Aid has focused on growing the footprint of our social enterprise - Beyond Water. We have been bold and unafraid to challenge the status quo by creating a business-driven, sustainable approach to securing water access in Malawi’s rural communities. Learn more about or Professionalised Repair and Maintenance (PRM) services on our website.
