"Mambo?" (Are you cool?)
Steve is 3 years old. He's been coming to Joy Babycare for the last year. At the beginning he was withdrawn and inactive, often crying, often alone. Through providing simple things - dedicated care, love and play things, Steve has slowly begun to interact with the world, have fun and enjoy being a child. You helped make this happen. Thank you!
Steve and 30 other great babies and toddlers are now accessing both a safe and fun place to stay while their mother's earn the money needed for survival in Kabiria, Kenya.
So have we succeeded? Are we done?
Yes and No.
Steve and his friends at Joy Babycare are happy. We have created a small business to keep the project running without continued donor support (sustainability in action!). But, Milicent and her friends at nearby Abundance School are not.
Milicent and her friends have no floor to sit on at their school, no access to clean water and no books to read. Poverty and distance means they cannot go to a Government primary school. Will you help them get clean water and a simple floor on which to work?
You can help in two ways:
1. Visit this link: http://www.globalgiving.co.uk/projects/abundance-school-for-vulnerable-and-needy-children/
Either donate (if you can) or sign up for updates so you can know how we are getting on.
2. Share this new project with friends and family through facebook and email.
The more people that know about us the more we can grow our work.
Asante Sana,
Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
