At the beginning of the year, Tiba was accepted by a UK- on-line fundraising charity 'Global Giving UK' following a 'Gateway Challenge' when we raised USD 2000 from 50 donors to ensure our place on the website. Since then we have raised USD
1760 for joy baby care, our crèche for young single mothers to enable them to seek work without leaving their babies at home or taking them into dangerous work situations. This funding has enabled us to refurb and equip our nursery, pay a support worker to upskill the carer, pay a visiting nurse for medical check-ups, feed our babies and buy toys and play equipment. We report a much increased level of confidence in the parents and children. The project can now stand on itself. Many thanks to our donors that made it happen.
We are now planning to also fundraise for the next phase of its GAC project on Global Giving American site and UK website. G.A.C (Give me Another Chance) is a project of people living with HIV and AIDS in the slum districts of Nairobi. We are seeking to train further 200 people living with HIV and AIDS on Transformational Breathing, Nutritional Health, and Home based Care and Business Skills. These group will then become ambassadors of the same in the community.
Apart from the G.A.C project, we will also be seeking funds to rebuild and upgrade our Abundance school. This is a place where less privileged kids in our community come to acquire education like the reset in the community
