Brookie (brownie & cookie) and her sister Éclair were intercepted at an animal shelter by a NBCR volunteer. They were living among 20+ cats on a farm where an elderly woman was feeding them as best she could. Not surprisingly, cats living in these situations often lack medical care. Typically they have fleas, upper respiratory infections, intestinal parasites, ear mites, and ringworm. Brookie & Éclair were no exception. Both clearly needed a clean, safe place to stay, a healthy diet, medical treatment and love. Our wonderful foster volunteers are fully equipped to provide all of the above but without your donations we would not have been able to cover their medical expenses. After both girls were spayed, vaccinated, tested and microchipped, they were adopted together!
Thank you for supporting our rescue!

Mud Pie, anyone?

On the road
Mud Pie was intercepted at an animal shelter by a NBCR volunteer. She and 20+ cats were living on a farm where an elderly person was feeding then as best she could but they were not provided medical care. One might expect a cat living in the country with so many other cats might be feral but that was not the case. As a young kitten, Mud Pie was friendly, affectionate and outgoing. While she clearly needed some TLC and a healthy diet, the volunteer knew she would make a great pet for someone. After being fostered and vetted, Mud Pie was adopted by a previous adopter. She has been renamed Sasha and is loving life in the city with her new Mom. Stay tuned for future updates on her siblings.
Thank you for supporting our rescue!

Three Little Brothers
By Stacy Soileau | Adoption Facilitator

All tuckered out
Chadwick, Denzel, Samuel were found beneath a concrete sidewalk about 10 feet from the service road to a major highway. These little boys were scared and hungry and running back and forth beneath the sidewalk through the small crevices on either side. They were finally lured out one by one with some yummy canned cat food. One of our volunteers was able to grab each one and safely get them indoors.
These poor boys were covered in fleas and 2 of the 3 had severe eye infections. They have been in our care for nearly 3 weeks. Now they are flea and worm free, and their eyes are clear and bright. They play hard until they are tuckered out and then they climb into their tiny box to nap in a kitty pile.
In a few more weeks they will be neutered and vaccinated and ready for adoption.
Today they are happy-go-lucky kitties with not a care in the world, as it should be! We are so grateful for your continued financial support of New Beginnings Cat Rescue.
