Context and general situation of the project

1. Analysis of the humanitarian situation and the malnutrition crisis

The malnutrition crisis in Yemen is one of the world's worst, a direct result of conflict and economic collapse. International reports (UNICEF) indicate that more than 2.2 million children suffer from acute malnutrition, including more than 540,000 children suffering from life-threatening severe acute malnutrition (SAM) .

2. The socio-economic status of the beneficiaries

  • Main reasons :The ongoing war, deteriorating living standards, the blockade, and rising food prices .
  • Impact :The dire situation has led to widespread famine, leaving most families unable to meet even the most basic needs for survival, with the majority of the population subsisting on just one meal a day. The interruption of salaries and the surge in unemployment have significantly exacerbated the problem .

3. Total number of beneficiaries targeted during the period

Beneficiary category                                    Number
Total individuals                                          174 people
.Number of beneficiary families                30 families
Malnourished children                               30 children
breastfeeding women                               18 women
pregnant women                                         24 women

Beneficiaries are family members (family members)

102 individuals

The achievement of the goal was confirmed through monitoring the children's health and the improvement in their indicators .

Recommendations and proposals for the next stage

Given the widespread famine and disease in most parts of Yemen, especially conflict zones, the following is proposed :

  1. Increase the level of financial support and donations :To cover as many people in need as possible and to implement accompanying activities that serve the project's objectives .
  2. Expanding the project's geographical scope :To include new areas inhabited by displaced people who are suffering from hardship, lack of food and medicine .
  3. Increase the number of food aid packages :
    • Increasing the number of food baskets for poor families .
    • Increased medication for displaced patients .
    • Expanding the distribution of nutritional supplements to malnourished children, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers due to their increasing numbers .
