Thank you so much for supporting the Kimbilio Project to provide hairdressing and beauty training for teenage mums. All the last intake of mums successfully completed the course and they now have the hairdressing and beauty skills plus the tools to enable them to be able to earn an income. The young mums are at the start of the pathway from poverty and to be able to provide for themselves and their families.
Life on the streets in Lubumbashi for young women can be very dangerous and, by taking them off the streets by providing accommodation for them for the duration of the course, Kimbilio gives the young women a place of safety where they will be cared for and be valued. The hairdressing course increases their self-esteem by giving them new skills and the income will help the young mums to feed their babies and to care for them properly.
